Environmental

PV systems harness the power of the Sun to produce electricity with no negative environmental attributes. Every kilowatt hour produced by the PV system means that one less kilowatt hour is required from traditional fossil-fuel electric generation sources. For example, a single 500 kw ground-mounted PV system displaces the production of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide by almost 24,000 tons over its warranted life. This is equivalent to 2.5 million gallons of gasoline, 50,000 barrels of oil, and 18,000 acres of pine forests storing carbon for one year.

Economic

PVOne's Power Purchase Agreement model enables host customers to realize the numerous economic benefits of on-site PV system-generated electricity all at no risk and with no upfront capital costs or ongoing operations and maintenance expenses. In addition to receiving competitively priced electricity generated by the PV system – which displaces grid-supplied electricity and supply and distribution charges – host customers may realize the following benefits:
  • Long term hedge against market volatility and utility rate increases
  • Reduction of demand, capacity, and transmission costs
  • Attainment of corporate environmental goals and commitments
  • Roof insulation and preservation (roof-mounted systems)
  • Utilization of dormant, open land areas (ground-mounted systems)
